Warranty Coverage

Retrofit bulbs: Limited lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects and premature LED failure under normal use.

String lights, clips, and accessories: Limited 1-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and electrical failures under normal use.

Coverage applies to products used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.

Exclusions

Alterations, misuse, or operation outside of recommended guidelines voids the warranty.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic or environmental wear such as corrosion, rust, discoloration, UV fading, or damage from water intrusion, ice, wind, or other weather events. These are considered normal risks of outdoor use over the life of the product.

Physical damage (crushed sockets, cut wire, broken lenses, etc.) or damage caused by overloading circuits, improper installation, or incompatible products is also not covered.

How to Start a Warranty Claim

  1. 1 Contact us. Email cs@hlolighting.com or call (800) 737-7841. Our team will confirm eligibility and next steps.
  2. 2 Ship the item. Return the defective item to our warehouse (address below). Within 90 days of purchase, we cover return shipping. After 90 days, the customer covers return shipping.
  3. 3 Replacement. Once we receive and verify the item, we’ll process your replacement per the warranty terms.

Do I need approval before sending items back?

What proof of purchase is required?
Your order number and the email or phone used at checkout. Photos of the issue help us expedite review.
How long does replacement take?
Once the item arrives and is inspected, replacements are processed as quickly as possible, typically within our standard processing timeframes.
What kinds of damage are covered under warranty?

Covered examples:

  • Bulbs that fail under normal use (lifetime coverage for retrofit bulbs).
  • Socket or wiring failures caused by a manufacturing defect within the warranty period.
  • Products that do not perform as described due to a defect in materials or workmanship.

Not covered:

  • Corrosion or rust on sockets, wire, or hardware.
  • Water intrusion from open or unsealed connections, cut wire, or improper installation.
  • Physical damage such as crushed sockets, broken lenses, or cut/stripped wire.
  • Damage from overloading, incorrect voltage, incompatible products, or modification.
  • Normal wear, discoloration, or UV fading from long-term outdoor exposure.
